Getting to the Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach is easy. Virgin, Jetstar and Tiger Air all fly into the Whitsundays Coast Airport in Proserpine.

Most capital cities have direct flights and those that don’t have connecting flights through Brisbane.

Flying into Hamilton Island is also an option with most airlines. From Proserpine, it is a 30-minute transfer to Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach via shuttle, limo, taxi or transfer company. Booking details will be provided in your welcome letter. From Hamilton Island, it is a 45-minute ferry transfer, with bookings made directly with Cruise Whitsundays.

This package is for sailing experience only. Flights are not included and need to be purchased separately.

Please note: The catamaran is hired to you on a ‘bare boat’ basis, which means the charter does not include a skipper, a sail guide or any provisions or services such as airport or marina transfers, fuel, fees for mooring/berthing, Environment Management Charges or food onboard.

Please Note: An AU$30 Environment Management Charge applies per person, per trip over the age of four and is collected on behalf of the Australian Government. This can be prepaid on line before departure.

You will board at 5pm on a Friday, the night prior to your departure. You will undergo your 4-5 hour briefing at 9am the next day, before setting sail or motoring away. You will disembark the boat at 5pm on the last day, coming into the fuel wharf at 3pm for refuelling.

Check Availability: To confirm your dates of stay at purchase, click on ‘Check Availability’ and select your preferred package. Use the calendar to browse and select available dates. Dates with a surcharge are identified.

This will secure your package and give you the flexibility to choose your travel dates - within the book by and validity period and subject to availability. 7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for Tour bookings and flights) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 21 days prior to the check-in date.

Can I change my check-in date post-purchase:

Once you have purchased your package and received confirmation your dates cannot be changed without contacting the team at Portland Road - Sailing the Whitsundays directly. This decision is strictly at the discretion of Portland Roads - Sailing the Whitsundays and subject to availability and the terms specified in your welcome letter, so please ensure you have selected your intended travel dates.

Please note the following costs ARE NOT included in your package:

• Fuel: Consider approximately AU$20 per day for good sailors OR AU$40 per day for amateur sailors
• Marina Fees: Only applicable if docking at the marina overnight - approximately AU$125 per night
• Mooring: All moorings in the marina park are covered by your EMC payment - Daydream Island and Palm Bay Long Island are private mooring and charge approximately AU$150 each
• Master Skipper: Should you require a Master Siypper, the following charges apply - AU$3000 for a Master Skipper, 24/7 six days or Au$6000 for 12 days.

Packages are valid for eight guests. No additional guests can be accommodated.

Whilst the nominated skipper from your crew must be at least 25 years of age, there are no age restrictions for the balance of the crew. Cots cannot be used on the vessel.

Any unused portion of the package is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for other services or cash.

Nights/days must be used consecutively.
