Getting to Maleny is easy. Regular flights to Sunshine Coast Airport are available with Qantas, Virgin Australia, Jetstar and more departing most Australian capital cities.
Flights depart regularly from major gateways including Singapore (approx flight time of 8 hours), Hong Kong (approx flight time of 9 hours), Dubai (approx flight time of 14 hours) and Bangkok (approx flight time of 9 hours).
Airport transfers are not included in your package. The hotel is approximately a 40-minute drive from Sunshine Coast Airport. Transfer costs from the airport are approximately AU$40.

The Property – In beautiful gardens
Located in an acre of fragrant gardens that features a 500-year-old fig tree, The African Cottage is a scenic property offering cosy cottage accommodation. The area is known for its rainforest walks, natural waterholes, waterfalls and botanic gardens that you can spend hours exploring with your other half or family.
Your Cottage – Cosy and self-contained
Stay in one of four cottages, each as charming as the next. On arrival you’ll receive a breakfast hamper of South African-style goodies such as boerewors (sausage), sashaba (tangy tomato cause), eggs, bread, tea, coffee and more that you can cook on the stove or ‘braai’ (BBQ) outside. On one evening during your stay you can enjoy a pre-prepared dinner in your cottage, with candles supplied for a beatiful ambience. You’ll also receive an AU$20 voucher to use towards Gourmet Afrika where you can purchase South African gourmet products including sauces, chutneys, curry pastes and more.
Cape Cottage (for two people): Situated under the property’s towering 500-year-old fig tree, this cottage gives the illusion of being in a tree house. Self-contained with a cosy open living area, hotplate and microwave, you can wake up to the sound of birds, enjoy a BBQ by the Stix eco-friendly fireplace or unwind on your deck.
Kalahari Cottage (for two people): Nestled in a lush rainforest garden, this cosy cottage for two is self-contained with a modern kitchen,open-plan living area and Stix eco-friendly fireplace, as well as a BBQ and courtyard where you can dine alfresco or enjoy a drink at sunset.
Rondawel Cottage (for four people): This two-bedroom cottage is fully self-contained with a beautiful large glass and timber living area, two hexagonal bedrooms and a fantastic bath overlooking the fragrant gardens. Relax by the eco-friendly Stix Fireplace in winter or enjoy cool summer breezes in summer.
The African Cottage (for six people): This cottage boasts three bedrooms, large kitchen and spacious living area. Unwind in the bath upstairs, overlooking a 500-year-old fig tree, or relax in front of the Stix eco-friendly fireplace.
See & Do – Something for the whole family
Situated just 20 minutes from Australia Zoo and 30 minutes from the nearest beach, you can pack the whole family in the car for a day of fun. Closer to the property you’ll find the Baroon Pocket Dam, Maleny Cheese and plenty of rainforest walks to keep you entertained.
